“If you look at the sun setting
For fifty one(51) straight days
from that hill, your love will come true”
Without hiding his boredom
While listening to me speaking enthusiastically
He looks up at the summer sky
There’s no way I’d believe that kind of rumor
“You’re finally at your wit’s end?” he says – that’s so vexing
Stop looking at me as if you’re looking at an idiot
It’s like a prayer to the Gods, it is
If you start feeling cornered, that kind of thing is also necessary
“If you start something, you won’t listen
You’re just like a kid”,even if you tell me that
I won’t listen to you
Because I decided I’d do it!
There is something I found out after falling in love
I fell for you even more
I became serious about him, he was always on my mind
I’m not crying, I told you! *1*
I gathered small fragments of courage
For fifty one days
I hope my feelings reach that sky
He has a sour look on his face
He looks uninterested
If he hates it so much, wouldn’t it be better
If he didn’t hang out with me everyday? Jeez!
“It’s getting dark and it’s dangerous”
You’re still treating me like a kid!?
“You won’t keep it up for long, anyway”
Yeah, yeah, just watch me!
I wonder if I can be so relaxed because it’s you
I hide my love and wish for it to come true
I wish my feelings reach him
Who consoled me everytime I had my heart broken
Our pubery hit
And we drifted apart
We got taller and so did our line of sight
A lot of things started changing
It’s so hard that we’re childhood friends, I feel so uncomfortable
It’s so embarrassing, ah….
Watching the sunset on the 51st (fifty-first) day
Two shadows were lined up on top of the hill
“Who did you fall in love with this time? I’ll cheer you on”
When hearing that, I hold his hand and let my feelings out
“Because you’re like that, i fell in love with you”
You’re blushing with a displeased look on your face
That habit of yours hasn’t changed
Only now, I notice
That I like that side of you as well
“…you’re slow” wait, don’t pinch my cheeks
*1* Actually I wasn’t sure how to translate this part, because when I checked the Japanese lyrics (in Japanese characters), the second time “naite (泣いて)=to cry” was written – it was either emphasized as “nai~te(ないって)”, either it said “nai tte” (ないって) which is a negation. But I thought they would’ve just written 泣いって or something if it were the first option, so I chose to write it like this. I’m not sure if you got what I said or I’m bad at explaining, but if you think it’s wrong, you can express your opinion here!
* I wrote the number with actual numbers in brackets because in the original they’re written using numbers. I don’t know, I just wanted to write in both ways, I guess.
*I took the picture from Hechima’s pixiv, the one I linked to at the beginning of the post.
Midoriinu is one female utaite that sings very well and her cover is really pleasant to the ears. I tend to only listen to utaite, so I always want to list some of the ones who covered a song whose lyrics I translated.
I hope you liked the song as much as I did! I think these vocaloid(?) composers are amazing every time…
